Ella J. (Waters) Goodwin was the wife of Wilbur E. Goodwin.

Adulthood[edit | edit source]

On January 15, 1898, she and her husband bought lot numbers 9, 10, 12, and 27 in a plan made by her husband and Arthur H. Merrill.

By November 1900, Ella J. Goodwin bought property on the south side of New Britain Avenue from F. W. Dart.

In early April 1901, Goodwin and her husband sold land and buildings on the south side of Ashton terrace in Hartford.

In May 1902, they sold land in Orange, Connecticut, along with land and buildings on the south side of New Britain Avenue in West Hartford, before buying her own land from F. C. Rockwell on Prospect Avenue. During this time, she owned land on the east side of Prospect Avenue. She also bought land from Newell E. Goodwin on the south side of New Britain Avenue also. A display advertisement in November 1902 showed that she owned land on the west side of School Street, West Hartford. In late December 1902, Goodwin sold 12 acres of land in the South Meadows, Hartford to Elva H. Young.

In January 1903, Goodwin bought a lot and dwelling on the south side of New Britain Avenue from George R. Hodgdon. In March 1903, a display advertisement that she owned land on the west side of Harvard Street, Hartford.

On August 16, 1905, Wilbur and Ella sold land on the east side of Barbour Street in Hartford, Connecticut to Samuel C. Doty. Just a few months later, by November, her husband Wilbur died

In late November 1928, Ella took out two mortgage from Farmington Savings Bank, perhaps to pay for real estate they owned.
