Harvey Goodwin (1802-1895)

He was born in New Hartford, Connecticut on August 17, 1802; in 1823, he removed to Torringford, engaged in farming and brick making, and in 1827 relocated to West Hartford, Connecticut, to work in the manufacture of pottery. He commenced business on his own account in 1832, in which he was engaged until 1870, when he transferred the business to his sons.

He married Mary Sedgwick, who was born on January 31, 1806, on March 18, 1832. She died on April 18, 1843, and he married his second wife Fanny Elmer on February 2, 1845.
